The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 3.Batterie III.Abteilung Flak Regiment 5. This III.Abteilung was formed in November 1938 in München and was a Scheinwerfer abteilung. The 3.batterie in this case means it was the 13.batterie of the III.Abteilung.
It saw action during the invasion of France in May 1940 and then in Luftgau VII in the München area. In August 1943 it was renamed into Flakscheinwerfer-Abteilung 508 and still operated in the München area until the end of the war.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
