Nice zinc 2.Batterie Leichte Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung 178 dog tag in used, but good condition
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 2.Batterie Leichte Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung 178. This abteilung was formed in August of 1939 in Ulm. The abteilung trained and supplied men for different Artillerie Regiments like the 125, 178 and 305. It also supplied men for the Artillerie Abteilung 744. In May 1941 the 2.Batterie was used to form the 1.Batterie Artillerie Abteilung 671 which was part of the 715.Infanterie-Division. This division and her units fought in Italy in 1943/1944.
The 'O' on the back stands for the bloodtype of the soldier.
