A nice set of 2 award documents awarded to Unteroffizier Max Scheel.

Both documents show overall normal signs of wear. They where award to Max who served in the 2.Batterie Artillerie Regiment 30. This regiment was part of the 30.Infanterie-Division and was formed in October 1936 in Rendsburg. The division saw its first combat during the invasion of Poland. After Poland it moved west to the Eifel area. On the 10th of May it crossed the border with Holland in the Venlo area and pushed through to Belgium and then France. In June/July the division moved to the Caen area to prepare for Operation Seelöwe, but when this was cancelled the division moved to Raum Den Haag,Utrecht,Leiden. In June 1941 it participated in Operation Barbarossa and fought in areas like Illmensee, Demjansk,Staraja Russa and Kurland. The Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber was awarded on the 15 June 1944. The Eiserne Kreuz 2.Klasse was awarded on the 21.10.1944 and is signed by General der Infanterie wearer of the Ritterkreuz and Deutsche Kreuz in Gold.
