Interesting and tragic grouping of a soldier who served within the 14.(Panzerjager) Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 232.
All the documents of the grouping show overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier named Wilhelm Robert Kuchler. Wilhelm was drafted in the Infanterie Panzer Jager Ersat Kompanie 30 in May 1941. In September of that year he switched to the 14.(panzer jager) Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 232. (This unit was renamed into 14./Grenadier Regiment 232 in October 1942). With this unit he saw combat on the eastern front in areas like Bryansk,Moskau, Rshew and Kalinoff. Unfortunately on the Kalinoff Coast Wilhelm was killed by a direct hit on his antitank gun by a Shrapnell splinter to the head.
The Wehrpass is pretty full of entries. It contains also a 'Gefechtskalender'. According to the pass Wilhelm earned the Ostmedaille on 21.10.1942. His rank was Gefreiter (01.12.1942).
Wilhelm was skilled to operate The PaK 3,7cm, S.M.G.34, Masch.Pist. and the Pistole 08.
