The overall condition of the document is very good. Only had a small piece of tape on the back. The KvKII was awarded on 20.11.1940 to Walter who served in the Stab I.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 125. This regiment was formed in November 1938 in Saarbrucken. The I.Bataillon was stationed in Trier. The regiment was put into action on the Western front. In early 1941 it saw combat in the Balkans. By the end of September of that year the regiment fought in Serbian area. In 1942 the regiment became motorized and in October 1942 it was renamed into Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 125 and was shipped to Afrika where it was part of the 164.leichten-Afrika-Division. It fought in Raum Tunis and was destroyed in May 1943.
In July 1943 the regiment was newly formed in France and became part of the 21.Panzer-Division.
