The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. Complete with caption on the back. The moment (Sept.1942) the photograph was taken Nehring was the commander General of the Deutschen Afrikaporks (DAK).
Walter earned the Ritterkreuz in July 1941 as the commander of the 18.Panzer-Division. He earned the Eichenlaub in February 1944 and the Eichenlaub mit SChwerten in January 1945. Both as the commander of the XXIV.Panzerkorps.
