The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a Sonderführer, which was a NCO or CO, which served in the Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 9. A Sonderführer is a special(ist) leader with military command power.
The role of a Sonderführer can be devided into different tasks such as Interpreter, Military finance, Administrative roles, Engineering, railway transport and scientific tasks.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the bloodtype.
