Very nice and rare Wehrmacht Artillerie Druckerei Trupp related tag in excellent condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the Druckerei-Trupp Artillerie Regiment 168. The Druckerei-Trupp of an Artillerie Regiment was responsible for printing maps and tactical documents, propaganda leaflets, field newspapers and official order. The unit was part of the Regimentsstab.
Artillerie Regiment 168 was formed in late August 1939 and was part of the 68.Infanterie-Division. With this division the regiment saw its first action during the invasion of Poland that took place in September 1939. After that it participated in the invasion of France (May 1940) and in the summer of 1941 it took part in the invasion of Russia and fought in areas like Tscherkassy, Isjum, Woronesch and Beskiden.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
