These little tank models were produced and used by the German army on there sand tables or 'Sandkasten'. These 'sandkasten' were used both for mapping the tactical distribution of different units on the battlefield and for tactical instructions to young recruits.
Only a handfull of these little panzers survived the war. The length (including barrel) is approx. 6,5cm. The panzer is made from Ceramic and the barrel of wood. The model Is made by the manufacturer 'Goebel'.
The underside also bears the inscription 't-34' or 'Taank-34' in Russian, referring to the name of this rather intimidating medium tank used by the Russians.
An excellent, scarce and sought-after display piece.
