Nice worn aluminium 1st pattern Luftwaffe buckle with leather tab.
The buckle is in used but good condition (see the photos). The leather tab is maker marked by 'Dransfeld & Co' from 'Menden i/W' and dated '1936'. Its also marked 'L.B.A.' (Luftwaffe Bekleidungsamt) and unit marked 'I.Abteilung Flak-Regiment 5'.
I.Abteilung Flak Regiment 5 was formed in October 1935 with 5 batteries in München. It saw combat during the invasion of France and later in Norway. Until July 1942 it was in North Norway and Finnland supporting the Wehrmacht Gebirgsjager units. In mid 1942 the unit moved to South Russia and fought in areas like Rostov and Shmerinka.
