The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the Luftnachrichten Kompanie motorisier Fliegerhorst Leithorst) Lübeck-Blankensee. This was a communication unit of the HQ of the Fliegerhorst Lübeck-Blanksee.
Fliegerhorst Lübeck-Blankensee was the home for different units. Amongst them was Sturzkampfgeschwader 162, Sturzkampfgeschwader 167 and Kampfgeschwader 26. In May 1940 it was used for the invasion of Denmark and Norway.
The 'AB' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
