The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served at the Luftnachrichtenstelle Fliegerhorst Neuburg an der Donau. This was the communication section of the HQ of the Fliegerhorst Neuburg. In the years before the war this Fliegerhorst was used as a Fliegerwaffenschule and later also as a Blindflugschule 2 (C). Later it was also the base of Nachtjagdgeschwader 6 and Kampfgeschwader 40.
The back is marked with 'BLGR. A' which stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
