Nice Landwehr Leichte Artillerie Kolonne (II.Abteilung) 161 erkennungsmarke in used, but good condition.
The overall condition of the dogtag is good. Landwehr Artillerie Regiment was formed in August 1939. In September it was put into action during the invasion of Poland. In December it became Landwehr Artillerie Regiment 311 and was part of the 311.Infanterie-Division. In March 1940 the regiment was renamed into Artillerie Regiment 311 and was still part of the the same division. In September 1940 the I. and II. Abteilung where dissolved and the II.Abteilung joined Artillerie Regiment 236 as part of the 162.Infanterie-Division. It fought mainly on the Russian front in areas like Bialystok, Smolensk and Rshew. In Januari 1942 the regiment was dissolved. It was rebuild again in June 1943 with the 1.Turk-Legion as it's commander. It consisted out both Turkish (fighting for the German) and German soldiers. It was part of the 162(Turk).Infanterie-Division. It saw combat on the Italian front.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the bloodtype of the soldier.
