The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served/was drafted in the Lager Fliegerhorst Detmold. This was the base/home of a couple of training units such as the Flieger-Ausbildungs-Regiment 72, the Flugzeugführerschule A/B 119 and the Fliegertechnische Schule 7. It was later also the home of a couple of active combat units such as the III.Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 3 and the II.Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 27.
