The grouping shows overall normal signs of wear. The Wehrpass belonged to Franz Weiß who was drafted in the Kraftfahr Ersatz Abteilung 6 in April 1941, but switched unit (Feldpostamt 563 after a couple of days. In March 1942 he transferred to the 1.Kompanie Ersatz Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 2 and ended up in the 1.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 2. This regiment was part of the 11.Infanterie-Division. It was renamed into Grenadier Regiment 2 in October 1942 and in June 1943 into (Jäger) Grenadier Regiment 2.
The grouping consist out of;
- Wehrpass complete with portrait of Franz. All pages with entries have been scanned by us. Franz earned the KVKII, VWA in Silber and the EKII.
- Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse award document. Issued on the 2nd of December 1942 (matched the Wehrpass entry). Signed by General der Infanterie Paul Otto. Wearer of the DKiG.
- Wehrpass protection sleeve.
