The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the Infanterie Nachrichten Ersatz Kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Regiment 68. This unit was formed in late August 1939 in Guben. It trained and supplied soldiers for the 68.Infanterie-Division. This division saw its first combat during the invasion of Poland in September 1939 and aftr that moved to th wst to participate in the invasion of France. In June 1941 it participated in the invasion of Russia.
The 'Bl.Gr.O' stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
