The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in Gebirgsjäger Nachrichten Ersatz Batterie 110. We did a search to this unit, but other then it was formed in oct. 1939 and disbanned in Feb. 1940 there is no more info. The reason for this it that the unit only exsisted for a month (or just a couple of weeks), before it was absorbed in another unit. So it's a bit of a mystery, but not uncommon.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldiers' bloodtype.
