Nice matching gasmask straps set in used, but good condition.
The set shows overall normal signs of wear. They ar solid and the rubber parts are solid. Both straps are marked 'edb44'. The short straps is a harder to find variant with a wire hook. The long strap has a name tag attached to it that reads 'Butschek' and a Feldpostnummer 'L47249' which tell us that the soldier served in the 1.Batterie Flakscheinwerfer-Abteilung 358. This unit was formed in October 1941 as Reserve Flakscheinwerfer Abteilung 358. It operated in Germany until it was shipped to Tunesia in 1943.
After the Africa Campaign the abteilung moved to Münster and the 1.batterie was used to form the 4.batterie Flakscheinwerfer Abteilung 329. This abteilung operated, until the end of the war, in Dortmund.
