The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the Flakkolonne (motorisiert) I.Abteilung Flak Regiment 36. This Abteilung was formed in November 1938 in Wolfenbüttel. During the invasion of Poland it was part of the Koluft 8, 8.Armee. During the invasion of France that took place in MAy 1940 it was part of the XIX. Armeekorps and during the invasion of Russia, June 1941, it was part of Panzergruppe 3. It operated in Russia until it got destroyed in June 1944 in the area of Orscha.
The 'B' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
