All documents show overall normal signs of wear. All are in solid condition. Unteroffizier Martin Holzmann first served in the 12.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 13. This regiment was part of the 100.000 men strong Reichswehr army after the First World War. At the beginning of the Second World War the regiment was part of the 25.Infanterie-Division and saw combat during the invasion of France. In October 1940 the regiment became Gebirgsjäger Regiment 13 and became part of the 4.Gebirgs-Division.
The grouping also comes with a letter from Martin's commander which describes how Martin was killed during combat.
According to the notice Martin was awarded the Goldenen Ehrenzeichens der Hitler Jugend. EK1 and EK2.
