Death notice card of Oberleutnant Hans Hengge who died during combat in the area of Triëst (Italy).
The card shows overall normal signs of wear. According the notice Hans died on the 21 December 1943. Hans served within the Gebirgsjäger Schule when he was killed. Before that he served in the 8.Kompanie Gebirgsjäger Regiment 100. During his military service Hans earned the Eisernes Kreuz 1.Klasse & 2.Klasse, Infanterie Sturmabzeichen and other award. According to the notice Hans was a Heeresbergführer. That means he was awarded the Heeresbergführer Abzeichen. An award that was only awarded 380 times! Much more rarer then the Ritterkreuz. According to the info on the card Hans was burried on the German Friedhof near Triëst, but according to the Volksbund Hans is burried at the war cemetery of Costermano.
