Very nice Red Cross armband (Hilfskrankenträger) identifitaction cards in used, but excellent condition.
The cards show overall normal signs of wear. A white linen card or 'Ausweis' named to a Gefreiter Matthies Hermann Paulsen who was a Sanitäter within the 3.batterie Artillerie Regiment 225. This regiment saw it's first combat during the invasion of Holland on the 10th of May 1940. It crossed the border near Nijmegen and from there crossed the Maas river and pushed through to Tilburg. It then saw combat in Belgium and France. In the summer of 1941 it participated in the invasion of Russia.
The card is dated 27 September 1939.
