The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the Genesende Schwadron Artillerie Ersatz und Ausbildung Abteilung 15. The abteilung was formed in August of 1939 in Frankfurt. In May 1941 large parts were used to for Artillerie Abteilung 669 which was part of the 709.Infanterie-Division and was stationed under this division in Normandy. In Juli 1943 it became Artillerie Regiment 669.
The Ersatz Abteilung 15 also delivered men to Artillerie Regiment 15,51 and 299.
