The overall condition of the document is fine. It was cut to fit a frame so its a bit smaller then normal. The EK1 was awarded on 17 August 1941 to Jakob who served in the Stabskompanie Grenadier Regiment 12. This regiment was formed in August 1939 and was part of the 52.Infanterie-Division. In May 1940 it saw its first combat during the invasion of the Low countries, in Belgium. Also fought in France. On the 25th of June 1941 it came in to action on the eastern front. It fought in areas like Wilna, Bobruisk, Juchnow, Orel and Newel. In April 1943 Regiment 205 was disbanned. The 2nd bataillon was used to form the II.Bataillon Grenadier Regiment 181. The document is signed by Generaloberst Dr. Lothar Rendulic, wearer of the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuz with Eichenlaub and Schwerten.
