The documents show overall signs of use. Both of them where addressed for Paul Zwetsch who served in the 7.Kompanie Grenadier Regiment 279 saying that Paul (and a Gefreiten Wilhelm of the same company) earned the Eisernes Kreuz II.Klasse. This regiment was part of the 95.Infanterie-Division and in the period (04.11.1943) the EKII was announced it fought in the Bobriusk area. After that it saw combat in Witebsk, Tauroggen,Memel,Salland and Hela.
Paul earned the medal for special bravery in front of the enemy.
