The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier that served in 6.Kompanie Flieger Ausbildungs Regiment 61. This regiment was formed in April 1939 in Oschatz from Flieger Ersatz Abteilung 61. In October 1941 the regiment moved to Blois, France and in 1942 to Senlis, France. The regiment became Flieger Regiment 61 in August 1942 and it was renamed Luftwaffe Jäger Regiment 26 in November 1942. It served under the 13.Luftwaffe Feld-Division and fought in Russia in areas like Wolchow, Ladoga and Pleskau. The division and her units where disbanned in April 1944 and the remnants where absorbed by the 12.Luftwaffe Feld-Division which fought in Riga, Kurland and Danzig.
The 'A' on both sides of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
