Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the 5.Kompanie Feld Ersatz Bataillon 131.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. The bataillon was formed in the summer of 1941 as an Ersatz-Regiment for the 131.Infanterie-Division. It was disbanned in early 1943, but rebuild again in July 1943 and this time with 5 companies instead of 3.
131.Infanterie-Division and her unit saw combat in Russia in areas like Brjansk, Witebsk, Kowel and later in Ostpreußen.
The 'A' stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
Not often seen dog tag.
