Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the 1.Marschkompanie Grenadier Ersatz Bataillon 514.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. The bataillon was formed in December 1940 in Dresden as Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 514. It's not exactly known for which regiments the bataillon trained and supplied men. In November 1942 the bataillen was renamed Grenadier Ersatz Bataillon 514. In April 1945 the bataillon was as, Grenadier Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 514, mobilized.
The tag was very sloppy made.
