The Wehrpass shows normal signs of use. It's solid and complete with all pages. It belonged to soldier Heinrich Pries. Heinrich was drafted in Februari 1941 in the 3.Kompanie Pionier Ersatz Bataillon 20. From 6.2.1941 - 27.3.1942 he served in different companies within bataillon 20. From 28.3.1942 - 4.7.1942 he switched to the 3.Kompanie Pionier Bataillon 182. He was stationed for 2 months in the Netherlands as an occupation force and and also saw some combat in Russia North East of Kursk. Here he got wounded by shrapnel and was also shot through his hand. He was transferred to the Genesenden Kompanie Pionier Ersatz Bataillon 9.
The last unit Heinrich served in was the 3.Kompanie Panzer Pionier Bataillon 57. He served within this unit from 13.1.1943 until his dead on 15.7.1943. The bataillon was part of the 6.Panzer-Division and saw action in the first 6 months of 1943 in Charkow. Here Heinrich was hit by Shrapnel for the second time on 13.7.1943. Unfortunately he died on the 15.7.1943 in a field hospital.
Heinrich was trained to shoot the Gewehr 98 and the 24(t). He also followed a lot of different courses such as 'Spreng-Sperr und Wasserdienst', Heeresatmer and Gasspürer.
Heinrich was promoted on the 1.7.1942 to the rank of Gefreiten and was awarded the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz on 17.8.1942.
