The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in '3.Batterie Luftsperr Abteilung 103'. The abteilung was formed in October of 1941 in Berlin-Kladow as Reserve Luftsperr Abteilung 103. It had 4 batteries. In July 1943 it was renamed in to Luftsperr Abteilung 103. It was stationed in Essen and Dorsten during the war.
These units where equipped with air barrier balloons and kites to stop air raids. These could reach a height of 7 km.
Interesting dogtag.
