Nice zinc Wehrmacht Feld Ersatz related tag in used condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. The bataillon was formed in the summer of 1941 as an Ersatz-Regiment for the 131.Infanterie-Division. It was disbanned in early 1943, but rebuild again in July 1943 from the Divisions-Kampfschule and this time with 5 companies.
131.Infanterie-Division and her unit saw combat in Russia in areas like Brjansk, Witebsk, Kowel and later in Ostpreußen.
The 'O' stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
