Very nice aluminium 2.Kompane Straßen Baubataillon 532 dog tag of 'Erkennungsmarke' in used, but excellent condition.

The tag shows overall normal signs of wear. Straßen Baubataillon 532 was formed in August 1939 in Berlin with 4 companies. It participated in the invasions of Poland, France and Russia as part of the 9.Armee.
In August 1943 the bataillon was renamed into Baupionier-Bataillon 532. In early 1945 it operated in Ostpreussen.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
Nice tag of a unit that is not so often seen.
This tag is published in the book 'Deutsche Erkennungsmarken' by Jean Höidal (page 102).
