The document shows overall heavy signs of wear. The Assault Badge was awarded on 9.March 1943 to Hermann Hoffmann who served in the 1.Kompanie Schnelle Abteilung 306. This regiment was formed in November 1940 and was part of the 306.Infanterie-Division. It saw its first action in December 1942 in Russia in the Don area. Later in the area of Mius, Nikopol and Kischinew. The Schnelle abteilung was renamed in Panzerjager Abteilung 306 in November 1943 and was, together wit the division, destroyed in Südukraine.
Ritterkreuztrager Franz Siebert served in the 3.Kompanie of Panzerjager Abteilung 306 and he commanded a couple of Selfpropelled guns, probably StuGs. Chances are big that also the 1.Kompanie had StuGs.
