Very nice Flieger Ausbildungs Regiment 71 erkennungsmarke in used, but good condition.
Very nice Luftwaffe dogtag in good condition that belonged to a soldier that served in 1.Kompanie Flieger Ausbildungs Regiment 71. This regiment was formed in April 1939 in Sorau. In November 1942 the regiment was stationed in Carcassonne, France and was by then named Flieger Regiment 71. In July 1944 the I.Bataillon was stationed in Montpellier, France. Until August 1944 the commanber of the I.Bataillon was Oberstleutnant Fritz Simon who was followed by majoor Wilhelm von Wahl. On the 31st of August the I.Bataillon and remnants of the II.Bataillon reached Lyon and was almost destroyed during the battle of Meximieux. Oberstleutnant (commander of the I.Battailon) was captured by the Americans.
Interesting dogtag.
