Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the 1.Kompanie Feld-Ersatz Bataillon der Luftwaffe 3.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the '1.Kompanie Feld-Ersatz Bataillon der Luftwaffe 3'. This bataillon was formed in the summer of 1943 from the Feldausbildungs-Regiment der Luftwaffe 3. In October 1943 the bataillon became part of the the Wehrmacht Heer and was renamed Feld-Ersatz-Bataillon 3 (L). It was part of the 3.Feld-Division(L) and with this division it saw heavy combat in Newel and Witebsk. It suffered heavy losses and was disbanned in early 1944. Remnants were divided to the 4.Luftwaffen-Felddivision and 6.Luftwaffen-Felddivision.
Interesting and not so common tag.
