The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. The abteilung was formed in August 1939 in Stendal and was part of Division.171. In October 1942 an Ausbilungs Abteilung 11 was formed and in April 1943 they were merged into Kraftfahr Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung 11.
What makes this tag a bit more unique is that it's marked/stamped with 'Ers. Stck' which stands for Ersatz Stück and means that the soldier lost his original one and a new one was made. This often happened in the field.
The 'O' on the lower part of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
