The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 1.Kompanie Heeres Bau Bataillon 225. This unit was formed from RAD members in late August 1939. In early 1940 the bataillon became a Luftwaffe unit named Luftwaffe Bau Bataillon 23/XI.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
This tag is published in the book 'Deutsche Erkennungsmarken' by Jean Höidal (page 101).
