Very nice aluminium Luftwaffe Flieger related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served/was drafted in the 1.Ausbildungs Kompanie Flieger Ausbildungs Regiment 31. This regiment was formed in March 1939 in Heiligenberg from Flieger Ersatz Abteilung 11. A month later it was renamed into Flieger Ausbildungs Regiment 11. The regiment moved to Finsterwalde in May 1939 and to Hilversum (the Netherlands) in June 1941.
In August 1942 the regiment became Flieger Regiment 11 and in October it was disbanned and was absorbed within the 11.Luftwaffen Feld-Division. This division and her units where transported to Athens, Greece. In February 1943 the division was sent to Crete. After that it was put into action in Serbia and Croatia.
