The photograph shows overall normal signs of storage wear. It's complete with paper caption on the back. The moment the photo was taken Gille was Kommandeur 5.SS-Panzergrenadier-Division "Wiking". On the photograph he is standing in his armored command vehicle (Schutzenpanzer) from where he directed all operations.
