When Austria was annexed by Germany (march 1938) the Heer immediately received some Austrian Divisions. In the beginning most of the Austrian forces would keep their own uniforms but replaced all Austrian insignia for German insignia, such as this on.
The tunic is in slightly worn but excellent condition. It's complete with all buttons. It has a set of Hauptmann (Captain) shoulder-boards and collar tabs and a nice officers bullion breast eagle. The insignia is, in our opinion, period applied by hand. The inside of the tunic is also in excellent condition and size marked '3'.
