The overall condition of this field-worn Waffen-SS m43 field cap is excellent. This cap shows one of the rarer configurations of insignia: the skull is applied to the front and the eagle to the side (i.e., not the stacked or trapezoid insignia on the front, which you see more often).
The insignia, being the two-piece SS eagle and skull are factory machine-applied. This cap has the single button front closure, something that was more common with SS troops.
On the inside you can see normal signs of use. The sweat stains, from wearing, are clearly visible on the inside of the brim. The cap is not visible maker marked, (probably worn off due to wear), although there is a faint ink stamp (name?) visible
The size of the cap is approx. 54cm.
Excellent field-worn and very hard to find example with period factory machine-applied insignia.
