The overall condition of the document is good. Shows signs of wear. The Ostmedaille was awarded on 10.August 1942 to Heinrich who served in the Stabsbatterie IV Abteilung Artillerie Regiment 29 as a Oberbeschlagmeister. An Oberbeschlagmeister is a specialist in shoeing horses.
I.Abt.Artillerie Regiment 69 was used to form the Schwere IV.Abteilung. The regiment was part of the 29.Infanterie-Division and saw its first combat during the invasion of Poland. It was then moved to the West to Luxemburg and then France. In May 1941 it was moved to the east. It fought in areas like Minsk, Smolensk, Brjansk, Charkow and Stalingrad were it got destroyed.
A new Artillerie Regiment 29 (mot). was formed in March 1943 in France. In June 1943 it moved, under the command of 29.Panzer-Grenadier-Division, to Italy.
