The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. The Abteilung was formed in the summer of 1939 in Rottweil/Neckar with 4 batteries. In 1941 the unit was converted to Schwere Flak Ersatz Abteilung 45. And in the summer of 1942 it was divided in to an Ersatz and an Ausbildungs unit. The ersatz unit was stationed in Rottweil the entire war.
