Details

The document shows normal signs of wear. The KvKII was awarded on 30 Januari 1944 to Josef who served in Stabkompanie Grenadier Ersatz Regiment 572. This regiment was formed in October 1942 in Saarburg. In December 1942 the staff (Stab) was transferred to Metz, France. A total of 7 different Grenadier Ersatz Bataillons where part of Regiment 572. In September 1944 the regiment was used to form Kampfgruppe 9/XII and was put in to action at Chateau Salins as part of the XIII.SS-Korps. The regiment was divided in to 3 companies with a strength of 502 men. After that ersatz regiment 572 was divided in to different 'Kampfgruppe'.
