The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It's rock solid. It belonged to a nco/co who served in the Stab Feldersatz Bataillon 16. This unit was formed in August 1939 as part of the 16.Infanterie-Division also known as 'Der Windhund' divison. This division later became the 16.Panzer-Division.
The 'O' on the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
