The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a SS-Zöglinge or Jugend/youth member who operated on the Fliegerhorst Kommandantur AO12/XI. These tags were issued to young recruits who were deployed in Luftwaffe facilities and/or as a Luftwaffe Flakhelfer and were too young for the Waffen-ss. As soon as they were old enough, they were to be transferred to SS units.
