The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a member/soldier who served whitin the 1.Kompanie Volkssturm-Bataillon 37/216. This bataillon was formed in the Reichsgau Weser-Ems. The 'DV' on the tag stands for 'Deutsche Volkssturm'.
Volkssturm related tags were issued on different types of tag of which the Kriegsmarine tag, which they used in this case, is the rarest.
