The flag has an awesome used and 'been there' patina. Marked with 'Reichskriegs-Flg.0,5 x 0,85', the Kriegsmarine acceptance stamp and the maker 'Koechlin, Baumgartner u. Cie. A.G.' from 'Lörrach'.
These flags were used on U-boats ('Unterseeboote': see the last picture or S-boats ('Schnellboote') because of there small convenient size (50cmsx85cms). It's used but not abused and would look awesome when framed in a collection room or display kabinet.
Hard to find piece.
