This larger variant cap eagle was introduced in early 1934 and was developed/intended to be used on the visor caps or 'Schirmmütze' of NSDAP Political Leaders. It has a wingspan of approximately 50mm, making it quite a bit larger than the 1st pattern eagle (1927) used by SA/SS personnel.
The eagle is marked ‘RZM’ on the back in the neck/breast area.
Excellent example and very hard to find!
