Very nice and rare E-Stelle Rechlin related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a worker of the Erprobungsstelle Rechlin. Erprobungsstelle or testingcenter Rechlin was situated in Meckelenburg. This testingcenter was build in 1918 and only served a couple of months during the First World War. From 1933 onwards it was actively used by the Luftwaffe. It became the largest Luftwaffe testingcenter of the Third Reich. Loads of new types of aircrafts, (jet) engines, but also parachutes were tested. Also captured enemy aircraft were brought to Reichlin for testing and investigation.
Mid 1944 the main focus was the development of the jet engine. The Me262, Ar234 and the He162 were jet aircrafts.
